Frederick Albert “Jackie” Hennage, 73,of Montross, VA, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 in Fredericksburg, VA. He was the son of the late Frederick Albert “Jack” and Alice Belle Sanford Hennage. He was born in Richmond, VA on April 20, 1943 and graduated from Washington & Lee High School.
Jackie was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church. He has served as a member of the Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department and was a leader in the Boy Scouts, as well as, Wilderness Challenge. He has left a lasting impact on the lives of those that he led and is remembered by them lovingly. He undertook many careers in his life including carpenter, brick mason, and mechanical technician at Scofield/Mattatuck. He eventually retired from Westmoreland State Park.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Carole Ann Hennage Allen of Fredericksburg; a son John Bradley Hennage (Melissa) of Havre de Grace, MD; two grandchildren, Iain Bradley and Gabriel Matthew Hennage; siblings, Mary Elizabeth Hennage Call and her son Matthew Bennett Call of Chesterfield; and, David Wesley Hennage (Debbie) and their daughter Grace Yan Xiaoping Hennage of Montross; two aunts, Evangeline S. Balderson of Warsaw and Iris S. Vaughan of Gainesville, FL.
Visitation will be held at Providence United Methodist Church on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Providence United Methodist Church at noon. Burial will follow in the Hennage Family Cemetery.
